HUNTINGTON BEACH — An early morning fire Sunday caused an estimated $300,000 damage to a bar and grill in the Huntington Harbour Mall, but firefighters managed to keep it from spreading to the adjoining businesses, authorities said.
No one was injured in the fire that gutted DBS McKay’s at 16903 Algonquin St., according to Battalion Chief Mick Terich of the Huntington Beach Fire Department.
A total of 42 firefighters battled the blaze, which was reported at 5:33 a.m. and controlled by 6:10 a.m., Terich reported. The bar sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, particularly on the inside, Terich said.
Damage was estimated at $150,000 each to the interior and structure of the bar.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
