Valleywide : Showers Fade; No More Rain Expected

The San Fernando Valley was sprinkled with light showers early Sunday, but not enough to register on weather monitors. No more rain was forecast for the remainder of the week.
“We’re just beginning to phase into the winter season now,” said Andrew Rorke, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. The intermittent rain--which started about 2 a.m. and ended eight hours later--needed to have been more than 1/100th of an inch to register.
The precipitation was caused by a low-pressure system that squeezed moisture out of the atmosphere, Rorke said. But the ridge of a high-pressure system that started moving into the Valley on Sunday was expected to bring fair weather.
Monday “will probably be the best day of the week,” Rorke said.
Throughout the week, Valley residents will likely see morning fog clearing by afternoon.
For Monday, the expected high temperatures will be 79 in Burbank, 78 in Van Nuys, 79 in Northridge and 82 in Woodland Hills.
Highs could drop by about five degrees later this week as more clouds move into the area.
