OXNARD : Rewards Offered in Teen’s Death

Ventura County Crime Stoppers and the family of 16-year-old Martin Ayala Banuelos are offering a reward of more than $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the teen-ager’s killers.

Banuelos was shot and killed Sept. 28 in front of his Oxnard home on the 1800 block of Kennedy Place. Oxnard police are looking for three or four males about 18 years old in connection with the case.

They are also seeking two vehicles believed to have been involved in the crime. One is a gray or silver Honda Civic or a silver Mistubishi 3000 GT; the second may be a burgundy Toyota Camry or Chrysler with four doors, or a Maroon Honda with tinted windows.

Crime Stoppers offers up to a $1,000 reward for anonymous tips leading to arrests and convictions. The Banuelos family has established a separate fund of more than $4,000.

Anyone with information on the crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-TALK (385-8255). Callers may remain anonymous and will be assigned a number for identification purposes.
