COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Cal State Fullerton Upsets Brown in Soccer

Cal State Fullerton upset fourth-ranked Brown, 1-0, in the UCLA MetLife men’s soccer tournament Sunday at UCLA.
It was the second consecutive year the Titans (10-8) pulled a major upset in the tournament. Last year, Fullerton beat top-ranked Indiana.
Fullerton’s only goal came with about 12 minutes left when Joshua Stringer scored off an assist from Joe DiGiamarino.
It was the first loss for Brown (11-1).
Washington tied UCLA, 1-1, Sunday to win the tournament with a 1-0-1 record.
Fullerton’s Stringer, Joe Franchino and Ruben Tavases were selected to the all-tournament team.
In a nonconference men’s soccer game:
UC San Diego 2, UC Irvine 1 (OT)--Jose Ocampo scored off an assist from Nick Terlecky in the 116th minute for visiting UC San Diego (11-5-2).
UC Irvine’s Bret Cowan scored 12 minutes into the game. But Nate Heterington tied it, 1-1, for UC San Diego about 20 minutes later.
