* As a woman, I was offended by Thousand Oaks Councilman Mike Markey’s comment that “violent movies make more people violent, but no movies make people rape.”
I think it shows a misunderstanding on Markey’s part. Rape is a violent crime and is classified as such by all law enforcement agencies. I would like to suggest that Markey contact a rape crisis center to be educated on this violent crime so he can be a more sensitive council member and law enforcement officer.
