In another Olympic League game:
Ontario Christian 46, Whittier Christian 14--The Ontario Christian Knights played homecoming spoilers as they routed the Whittier Christian Heralds at Whittier College.
Tony Giles led the Knights (5-5, 1-4) to their first league victory. He scored five touchdowns, including one 85-yard run, and two on passes of 18 and 20 yards, from quarterback Benny Goodheart.
Goodheart was five of seven for 85 yards with three touchdowns.
Whittier Christian’s offense misfired often. At end of the first half, the Heralds (2-8, 1-4) fumbled twice inside Ontario’s 20-yard line, which led to two quick touchdowns by Giles. Giles scored both in about a minute to close out the first half, 40-8.
Whittier Christian’s only real offensive surge came late in the game when junior running back Carlos Rios ran in from six yards. Rios’ scored topped a five-play, 57-yard drive by the Heralds.
