Youth : News for the 18-and-under crowd : LA PALMA : City Praises Pair of Kennedy Students

The city has commended two Kennedy High School students for academic and civic achievements.
In a ceremony at City Hall, Kathryn Roberts and Rishi Desai received letters of commendation from the City Council. Roberts was a 1995 delegate to California Girls’ State, and Desai to California Boys’ State. Both programs are sponsored by the American Legion.
In praising Roberts, the council said she has “earned the respect of her teachers, school administrators and peers through her scholastic achievements and her extracurricular service to her school and community.”
The commendation for Desai said he has “performed volunteer community services at La Palma Hospital, La Palma City Library and his school library, donated tutoring and assisted with the La Palma Days Parade.”
