Bob Barbash; Writer for TV Series Including ‘Gunsmoke’

Bob Barbash, 76, screenwriter and writer for popular television series such as “Gunsmoke.” Among Barbash’s screenplays were “The Plunderers” in 1960, “How to Make It” in 1969, “Tarzan and the Great River” in 1967, Disney’s “The Black Hole” in 1979 and “Target: Harry” in 1980. In addition to the long-running “Gunsmoke,” Barbash wrote for the television series “Playhouse 90,” “Four Star Theater,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “The Man Hunter” and in 1988 “The Adventures of Superboy.” He also worked as a television story editor and producer. On Monday in Los Angeles of cancer.
