PREP ROUNDUP : Mendez Has Record Day for Santiago

Albert Mendez scored seven goals to set a Santiago single-game record as the Cavaliers beat Magnolia, 10-2, in a nonleague boys’ soccer game Tuesday at Magnolia.
Mendez scored four goals in the first half to help Santiago take a 5-0 lead.
In other nonleague boys’ soccer:
Servite 4, Calvary Chapel 0--Reed Mokler had two goals and Ryan Delaney had a goal and an assist for host Servite. Sean Murphy posted his second consecutive shutout for the Friars (2-3).
Aliso Niguel 5, Capistrano Valley Christian 1--Brian Pyle scored two of the Wolverines’ five first-half goals. Aliso Niguel is 2-1-1.
Brethren Christian 6, Loma Linda Academy 0--Sean Reeves scored three goals to lead Brethren Christian (4-1).
Saddleback 4, Century 1--Tomas Serna scored two goals for Saddleback (4-1-1).
Orange Lutheran 5, St. Margaret’s 0--Matt Stiles scored three goals for host Orange Lutheran (5-1-2). It was the second time this season he has scored three goals in a game. He has 11 overall.
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
Los Alamitos 1, Long Beach Wilson 0--Carrie Shinen scored on a free kick from 25 yards with one minute remaining for visiting Los Alamitos (4-2-2).
Esperanza 1, Irvine 0--Kim Gallo scored on a free kick just outside the penalty box in the 62nd minute to give unranked Esperanza (5-1-1) the victory over sixth-ranked Irvine.
Huntington Beach 2, Trabuco Hills 0--Kelly Talbot scored both goals for Huntington Beach (2-1-3).
Mission Viejo 1, Canyon 0--Amber Skallerud scored in the first half and Hannah Cochrun stopped six shots for unbeaten Mission Viejo (4-0).
Estancia 7, Loara 2--Jaclyn Hale scored three goals and Erin Bergman had two for Estancia (1-2-1). Annable Dostal scored twice for Loara.
Costa Mesa 1, Westminster 0--Nicole Jankowski scored a goal with 10 minutes left to play for Costa Mesa (5-2).
Santa Ana 4, Los Amigos 0--Meghan Fults had six saves while recording her third shutout for Santa Ana (4-2).
El Modena 3, San Clemente 2--Nicole Terry scored the winning goal for El Modena (4-2-1).
Troy 2, Orange Lutheran 0--Melissa Curry and Holly Peterson scored for Troy (4-0).
Laguna Hills 2, Kennedy 0--Debra Mundis had three saves and recorded her third shutout for Laguna Hills (5-1-1).
University 6, Corona del Mar 0--Kristin Stephenson scored three second-half goals to lead University (4-2).
Dana Hills 3, El Toro 1--Sidney Leonard, Elicia Petre and Bree Denison scored for visiting Dana Hills (4-2-2).
Woodbridge 1, Aliso Niguel 0--Malissa Thornhill scored in the first half for for Woodbridge (6-1-1).
