A preview of next year’s economy in the five-county area, based on projections by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corp.:
Ventura County
Doing Fine: Ventura County should see the number of nonfarm jobs grow by 2.6%, while unemployment is projected to dip to 6.9% from 7.2%. Total personal income should rise by 8.1% --the greatest increase among the five counties--while retail sales should grow 6.2%. After a 13.1% dip in housing permits this past year, the number of permits could jump 30.8% to 2,800. The county’s population should increase 0.8% to 727,400.
