PRAYER BREAKFAST: To celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr., a prayer breakfast will be held at the Verbum Dei High School gym on Jan. 15 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
The breakfast’s theme will be “Nonviolent Social Change: Reducing Racial Tension,” and soul food will be served.
The event is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the African-American Vicariate and several Catholic churches.
