In the Fullerton women’s tournament:
Irvine Valley 69, Fullerton 57--Irvine Valley broke the game open midway through the second half with an 8-0 run led by Heather Robinson, who finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Irvine Valley meets Umpqua (Ore.) at 4 today in the title game. Jennifer Nakanishi added 16 for the Lasers (13-2), including four three-pointers.
Lacey Sollie had 14 points and Lupie Janos added 12 for Fullerton, which plays Riverside for third place at 2 p.m.
In the San Diego Mesa men’s basketball tournament:
Orange Coast 95, Grossmont 63--Matt Ambrose scored a game-high 25 points, leading five Pirates in double-figures, as Orange Coast (9-8) won the third-place game. Draper Mitchell had 18 points and Duane Curtis and David Downs each added 14 for Orange Coast.
In the Santa Maria Hancock tournament:
Cypress 67, Santa Barbara 47--Jason Krauss scored a game-high 21 points as Cypress advanced to the consolation final against Cerritos today.
Jeff Rutter added 14 points for the Chargers (8-8), including 11 in the second half.
