Westlake Grad to Give Marimba Concert

THOUSAND OAKS — A marimba concert by a Westlake High School graduate and marimba virtuoso is scheduled for Jan. 21 at the Thousand Oaks Community Gallery in Newbury Park.
Jason Treuting, a 1995 Westlake graduate who attends the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., will be featured in the first 1996 Showcase Concerts in the Gallery program. He received a full scholarship to Eastman for percussion study.
Paintings and sculptures by Art Center of Design alumni and other artists will also be exhibited at the gallery at 2331 Borchard Road.
The free exhibit will open Saturday with a public reception from 7 to 9 p.m. and will continue through Jan. 27. Gallery hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
The 2 p.m. Jan. 21 concert is free and is sponsored by the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley.
