World IN BRIEF : Buildings Damaged in Strong Quake

A strong offshore quake damaged buildings on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. There were no immediate reports of injuries or deaths. The Indonesian Meteorological Agency said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.0, but seismologists in Japan and Hong Kong measured it at magnitude 7.7. Ten buildings in the lightly populated area were damaged.
