NEWBURY PARK — A Newbury Park man died of an apparent heart attack while driving north on the Ventura Freeway on Thursday, officials said.
A California Highway Patrol spokesman said the man’s car left the freeway just south of the Westlake Boulevard ramp and slammed into the center divider about 5:45 p.m.
Authorities declined to release the man’s name or age because his next of kin had not been notified.
No other injuries were reported.
