ABC anchor Peter Jennings hosts a special for children, “Bosnia 101: Who Lives There, Who Died There, Why Are We There?,” today at 11 a.m. on Channels 7, 3 and 42.
The one-hour program will originate from a “tent city” created in an ABC studio in New York. Jennings will talk about Bosnia with a studio audience of 150 people, including families of American soldiers stationed in the war-torn country. He’ll also visit, via satellite, with youngsters in Sarajevo.
On a lighter note for children is the ABC movie “Legend of Ruby Silver,” at 9 tonight. John Schneider, Rebecca Jenkins and Bruce Weitz star in this action-adventure about an entrepreneur (Schneider) who sets out with a widow, her son and a veteran miner to find his fortune in silver at a legendary mine.
Other new TV movies this weekend include NBC’s “Gridlock,” about a bank heist that David Hasselhoff of “Baywatch” fame tries to foil, on Sunday at 9 p.m. (4)(36), and CBS’ “The Rockford Files: If the Frame Fits,” starring James Garner, Sunday at 9 p.m. (2).
