An exhibition of photo-based works by artist Roger Marshutz opens Monday in Cypress College’s Photography Gallery, 9200 Valley View St.
Marshutz’s exhibition, titled “Hidden Conversations,” features images such as corrugated cardboard, graffiti-covered stucco boxes and depictions of institutions such as prisons, said Alan Lombardi, a spokesman for the college.
“Each piece contains a speaker enabling the viewer to hear an extended conversation with the subject of the piece,” he said, including homeless people, ex-gang members and people who have been institutionalized.
The free exhibition, which continues through Feb. 23, is open to the public Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.
