Traffic Light to Make Exit Safer
Beginning in June, Piru residents will be able to exit the hamlet a little more safely thanks to installation of a traffic light at Main Street and California 126.
The light will let motorists enter California 126 without worrying about oncoming traffic, particularly trucks hauling cars, produce, and other items to and from the Port of Hueneme to the San Joaquin Valley.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors last week approved the project, which will cost $183,000. The county will pick up half of the tab and the California Department of Transportation will pay for the other half.
