Cha-Ron Walker
Saddleback, Sophomore
Basketball/Forward
Walker, from Inglewood Morningside High School, already has signed with Arizona. She has been a solid performer for the Gauchos (23-0, 10-0), who can clinch the Orange Empire Conference title with a victory tonight at home over Orange Coast. Last week, she had 19 points in a 110-51 victory over Rancho Santiago, and 21 points, 18 rebounds, five blocked shots and five steals in a 55-48 victory over Fullerton. She is averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Basketball
Nicole Wiora
* Golden West, freshman. She totaled 25 points and 13 rebounds as Golden West won twice last week.
*
Brandon Hearvey
Irvine Valley, Freshman
Basketball/Forward
Hearvey, from Magnolia High, isn’t the kind of forward who will intimidate opponents with his size. He is 6 feet 6 but weights 185 pounds. He relies on his quickness to combat the size disadvantage he often faces. Hearvey made nine of 12 field-goal attempts and finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds as Irvine Valley lost to Riverside, 82-81. He had 22 points on nine-of-14 shooting and got eight rebounds in a 98-82 victory Friday over Rancho Santiago.
Basketball
Jason Krauss
* Cypress, sophomore. He had 47 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists as the Chargers split two games.
