‘Pocahontas’ Sales Strong: In its first week in stores, Walt Disney Home Video’s “Pocahontas” has done booming business, selling more than 9 million copies nationwide. While that doesn’t compare to “The Lion King’s” record-shattering 20 million copies sold in its first week of video release a year ago, “Pocahontas” is running 50% above the first-week sales last fall for Disney’s classic “Cinderella.” . . . Meanwhile, coming up soon for Walt Disney Home Video is the 1970 animated classic, “The Aristocats,” which will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish-language editions on April 24.

Legal Briefs: Actor James Stacy, 59, who starred in the 1960s TV western “Lancer” and garnered an Emmy nomination for a 1986 episode of “Cagney & Lacy,” was sentenced in Ventura Tuesday to six years in prison for molesting an 11-year-old daughter of a friend. Stacy had pleaded no contest last fall to molesting the girl. . . . Former soap star Brian Patrick Clarke (“The Bold and the Beautiful”) won $5,426 in punitive damages Tuesday from a Los Angeles jury that found police roughed him up in 1993 after he complained about his car being towed. Clarke had already been awarded $4,000 in general damages. . . . A Los Angeles jury has awarded TV star Sherman Helmsley (“The Jeffersons”) $2.8 million after finding that film distributor Wolf Schmidt cheated him out of profits from “Ghost Fever,” a 1987 movie in which Helmsley starred. The movie fizzled at the box office but has made money on cable and video rentals, Helmsley’s attorney said.
