Perez’s Rescuers

Re “Teacher’s Shooting a Story of City’s Worst--and Best,” March 3: Terence Monmaney brought out that “best” for us in his accounting of this terrible event. The reader could feel the goodness, the intelligence, the heart of the people who responded to this emergency. The paramedics (from the L.A. City Fire Department), doctors and hospital personnel deserve praise for their commitment to human life; these are the everyday heroes who are positive role models for our children. The efforts of these people are appreciated! My family sends prayers and best wishes for the recovery of teacher Alfredo Perez.

* So many of us have been praying for Perez. God seems to be giving us a miracle. Now, let’s get our hands together again and thank him.
