Two men suspected of robbing a Bank of America on Tuesday were arrested moments later when a police officer spotted their car blocks away with money on the front seat, authorities said.
About 10 a.m., two robbers handed a teller a note demanding cash, Lt. John Schaefer said.
They fled south on Walker Street in a blue Cadillac with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police broadcast the suspects’ descriptions, and within minutes Officer Bill McCullers saw a blue Cadillac near Belle Avenue and Alice Circle.
Daniel Ramirez, 22, of Cudahay, and Daniel Perrufino, 20, of Garden Grove, were arrested without incident.
Detectives recovered money, a note reportedly used in the robbery and a handgun in the car, Schaefer said.
Ramirez and Perrufino were held in lieu of $50,000 each.
Cypress detectives and FBI agents are investigating whether they might have been involved in bank robberies in other cities.
