Pipeline News Conference

In Hugo Martin’s article “Crude-Oil Pipeline Supporters Clash With Opponents,” April 9, regarding a news conference outside City Hall, he stated that about 30 supporters and 10 opponents were present. I was at the press conference in support of the Pacific Pipeline as the safest alternative to transport crude oil, and there were 60-plus supporters and just a bit over 10 opponents. Inside City Hall, the community support for Pacific Pipeline was even greater, with about 160 supporters versus about 20 opponents. A decreased dependence on foreign oil, fewer trucks on our streets and a cleaner environment in our future and our kids’ future are why I support Pacific Pipeline.
