Tenneco Signs Electricity Pact: Houston-based Tenneco Energy and Energy Equity Corp. have signed a 20-year agreement to supply electricity to Indonesia from a $225-million power plant being built by the companies. The project will make the Tenneco Inc. unit and Energy Equity of Perth, Australia, the first private power producers in the Southeast Asian country. Tenneco Energy said the companies will build a 135-megawatt plant that will be fueled by natural gas produced from the Sengkang field, which is believed to contain more than 500 billion cubic feet of gas. Construction of the plant and a 25-mile pipeline will begin immediately. Tenneco Energy and Energy Equity will each hold a 47.5% stake in the power plant; a third investor was not immediately identified.
