* Cable: Comcast Corp. will create an all-sports cable channel in October 1997 to broadcast the games of its newly acquired teams, the Philadelphia 76ers in basketball and the Flyers in ice hockey, as well as those of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. The channel will be a joint venture with Spectacor, its partner in two arenas and the sports teams. The regional channel could hurt Cablevision Systems Corp.’s Sportschannel and its Prism movie channel, which have the rights to broadcast 76er games for two more years and Flyer games until next season. The Phillies split their broadcasts between Prism and local station WPHL. Those contracts end in 1997.
