A man decked in a black fedora and long trench coat walked up to a car idling at a Hollywood intersection early Sunday and began shooting, killing one of the car’s occupants and injuring two others, police said.
Police have neither a motive nor a suspect in the 12:50 a.m. incident, which took place outside a Denny’s restaurant at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue, said Los Angeles Police Officer Don Cox.
None of the victims were identified, and the conditions of the surviving victims was not immediately available.
A fourth person in the car was uninjured, Cox said.
