Audra Lydia Lee Miller, a dedicated homemaker, has died at the age of 80.
Born in the small Missouri Ozark town of Halfway, Miller was orphaned at the age of 9. In 1935, she married childhood sweetheart Fred Miller, who had wooed her in a horse and buggy in the Ozark Hills.
They later moved to Santa Paula, where Fred built their house in the foothills.
Miller enjoyed cooking, sewing and nurturing her family.
The couple, who had two daughters, later moved to another hand-made home behind a walnut orchard in Ventura.
Fred Miller died just two weeks before Audra Miller.
She is survived by daughters JoElla Cowan and Eileen Riddle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura.
