Residents Take Fast Action to Quell Fire

* You had an article April 30 with the heading “Teens’ Film Project Sparks Hillside Fire” in Newbury Park. The article stated that the fire was extinguished by the Ventura County Fire Department.
I would like to set the record straight. The fire was extinguished by the fast action of the residents with water, blankets and a shovel. By the time the Fire Department arrived on the scene, the fire was out, and the area just needed a good soaking from the Fire Department to prevent any hot spots from flaring up.
