New Format for Race Charts

The Times has changed its thoroughbred race charts to a different width, and several categories have been eliminated to accommodate this format.

Charts will no longer carry:

--The index number for horses.

--Jockey weight.

--Start (break) position for horses.

--The 1/4 call for races one mile or longer.

--Mutuel and exotic betting handles for each race.

The index number for horses and jockey weight will still appear in the previous day’s handicap.
