*** Chanty Savage, “I Will Survive (Doin’ It My Way),” RCA. Savage is a wonderful singer with the kind of voice that wraps around you like a warm embrace. In Savage’s hands, Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” becomes a velvety ballad, while her version of Patti LaBelle’s “Love, Need, Want” is assuredly sensual. As song stylist, she does it up in fine fashion.
