Wells Fargo Sells Montana, Wyoming Banks: Wells Fargo & Co. announced it has sold First Interstate Bank of Montana and First Interstate Bank of Wyoming to First Interstate Bancsystem of Montana Inc. The purchase price was $72 million, the company said. The sale is expected to close late in the third quarter, subject to regulatory approval. San Francisco-based Wells Fargo acquired both banks on April 1, upon closure of its acquisition of Los Angeles-based First Interstate Bancorp. First Interstate Bank of Montana has assets of $252 million and deposits of $174 million. First Interstate Bank of Wyoming has assets of $278 million and deposits of $252 million. Each bank will continue to be known as First Interstate Bank
