Trial Date Set for Couple Accused in Daughter’s Death

A trial date was set Tuesday for a Monterey Park couple charged in the death of their 18-month-old daughter, prosecutors said.
Patricia Inez Vildosola and William Jacobo Jr. will be tried July 10 in Pasadena Superior Court on murder and child abuse charges, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Cheri Lewis. They have been in custody since the death of their daughter, Destiny, in December.
A victim of what appeared to be shaken baby syndrome, the child died a few months after she was returned to the custody of her natural parents. Her death led the Department of Children and Family Services in January to fire the social worker assigned to monitor Destiny.
