BRITAIN : Baby-Formula Scare Is Latest Health Crisis

Anxious British parents deluged doctors and advice groups with calls for information as a scare over formula baby milk posed another food safety crisis for a government already struggling with “mad cow” disease. The government and food manufacturers refused to name the nine brands of baby milk found in newly released test results to contain tiny traces of a chemical that could impair fertility. The Health and Agriculture ministries insisted that there is no cause for concern. But many doctors and parents said they are reluctant to put their faith in such reassurances.
