Abel Montanez, a senior at Bishop Amat, responds well to pressure. He drove in the winning run in Saturday’s Southern Section Division I baseball final against Fountain Valley. In the Division I football final last fall, he had a game-saving interception. An honor student, he will attend Columbia University next fall.
