Balboa Bay Club Plans Topic of Workshop
Residents will be able to question planners and developers at a June 20 workshop about Balboa Bay Club’s plans for a $30-million improvement project.
The city and the club, which has operated at 1221 W. Coast Highway since 1948, have been negotiating for nearly 18 months over ways that the facility can boost its revenue.
A hub of social activity, the club is one of the city’s biggest tenants, generating nearly $1 million annually in rent.
Next week’s workshop will be at 7 p.m. in the Fire and Marine Department’s conference room at City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd. Information: (714) 644-3309.
