Chicago Fan Says City Is Second to None

I would like to respond to your article in Sunday’s sports section “Rooterville, U.S.A.”
Being a Chicago native living here exclusively for the industry, I found the article vindictive and spiteful of my hometown. The article calls Chicago “Hooterville . . . a star-struck city suffering from low self-esteem.” It goes on to say “New York has Broadway, L.A. has the industry, Chicago’s got . . . zip.”
As to self-esteem, it is very rare to find a Chicago native who does not take pride in the character, melting pot and food that make Chicago great. We have the best pizza, best hot dogs and tremendous restaurants of every ethnic variety. Everyone I know who has left Chicago longs to return, despite the weather.
