Freemen Surrender in Montana

Re “ ‘Freemen’ Surrender, Ending 81-Day Standoff,” June 14:
I am confused by the acclamations bestowed on the FBI for the peaceful end to the Montana standoff. Is there a different set of laws that sets angry, white, male extremists apart from regular, law-abiding citizens? I can only imagine what would happen to me and my kind if we behaved like these immature “freeman,” better described as “freeboys.”
Now that they have had their public tantrum, it’s time for them to grow up and go to prison with other criminals where they belong.

* Hail and bravo to the freemen in helping us define freedom. My family dates back to the American Revolution and the message is always, “Who owns the guns?” I’ll be renewing my membership in the NRA.

* Finally, the freemen are not!

* So the freemen are worried that our government gave them a lethal dose of “no brains” (June 17)? Maybe they’ve got something there.
