MISSION HILLS — Melissa Hearlihy, the girls’ basketball coach at Alemany High School for the past 11 years, has been suspended by the Southern Section until July 19 because an incoming freshman played for her team in a game last month prior to graduating from junior high.
Hearlihy would not reveal the player’s name, but said she had assumed the player was eligible because she was enrolled for the fall semester at Alemany.
