Indians’ Martinez on Disabled List

Dennis Martinez was scratched from his start against the Baltimore Orioles and put on the 15-day disabled list Sunday because of a strained tendon in his right elbow. . . . Boston Red Sox pitchers Tim Wakefield and Mike Maddux were shaken up but not seriously injured when they were involved in an automobile accident before Sunday’s game at Boston. . . . The Texas Rangers activated first baseman Will Clark from the 15-day disabled list. To make room for Clark, the Rangers put first baseman Lee Stevens on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left groin. . . . Cincinnati Red owner Marge Schott wants General Manager Jim Bowden to be the team’s chief executive officer for the rest of her 2 1/2-year absence from baseball, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
