* 1/2 Lina Santiago, “Feels So Good,” Universal. Cheap production sometimes enhances a record’s appeal: The murky sound of Nirvana’s early albums, for instance, added to their grunge essence. But when music is founded on technology, as is the dance synth-pop of this 17-year-old former homecoming queen from El Monte, penny-pinching can only detract from the craft. Despite its tin-can sound, “Feels So Good (Show Me Your Love)” is a hit; the album is mostly more of the same, some sung in Spanish.
Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
