Garcetti and Lynch to Debate in D.A. Race

Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti will meet his November election opponent John Lynch tonight in the pair’s first debate in the San Fernando Valley.
The event, hosted by the Lincoln Club of the San Fernando Valley, is set for 6 p.m. at the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys. It will be moderated by Lee Alpert, host of the weekly public-affairs television program “The Parallax Forum.”
The Lincoln Club is a Republican political action committee that does not intend to endorse a candidate for the office.
In the March 26 primary’s six-candidate field, Garcetti received 37% of the vote and Lynch 21%.
Since no candidate garnered more than 50%, a runoff was scheduled for November.
