Authorities released the names of two adults and two children who died in an apartment fire in Canyon Country last week and declared the case a murder-suicide triggered by domestic troubles.
Sheriff’s Det. Gil Carrillo said that Robert Brown, 33, apparently set the fire, killing himself, his wife, Carolina Brown, their daughter Kimberly, 3, and Robert Jr., nearly a year old.
“We have nothing to indicate that anyone else was involved” in the fire, Carrillo said. “We are calling it a murder-suicide.”
The fire, apparently set with gasoline poured near the entrance to the small back bedroom where the bodies were found, engulfed the two-bedroom apartment.
Authorities said the couple had marital problems and that Robert Brown was despondent over an impending separation.
