Glendale Hands Burbank 17th Straight Defeat

Max Maxwell rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns in 21 carries to help Glendale High defeat Burbank, 19-18, and extend the Bulldogs’ losing streak to 17 games Thursday night in a nonleague football game at Burroughs High.
Glendale (1-1) took a 19-12 lead early in the fourth quarter on a 26-yard touchdown pass play from Jeremy Callister to Paul Berroya on fourth and 12.
Burbank (0-2) had a chance to tie the score midway through the fourth quarter after a one-yard touchdown run by backup quarterback Bryan Ling. But the Bulldogs failed on two-point conversion run attempt.
Maxwell scored on runs of five and two yards in the first half to give the Dynamiters a 12-0 lead.
After Burbank’s Chad Mason returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, the Bulldogs tied the score in the third quarter when Mario Chelsea scored on a two-yard run.
