Council to Discuss Suit Against Rose Bowl Chief

Amid growing concerns about the handling of several sexual harassment claims, the Pasadena City Council will meet behind closed doors Monday to discuss a suit filed against the Rose Bowl manager by his former secretary.

Deputy City Atty. Larry Newberry said the City Council has requested a briefing on the suit filed earlier this year against Rose Bowl General Manager David Jacobs by his former executive secretary Jan Orr.

Senior city officials have been requested to appear before the council in executive session to explain the circumstances surrounding the case.

Some council members have said they are unhappy with the way the case was handled after complaints were first made by a female employee.

The Times revealed last week that Orr and another woman who has filed a claim against a Water and Power official were not alone in their allegations of abuse.
