Arts Festival to Offer Classes, Entertainment
- Share via
Manhattan Beach will hold its first Arts Festival on Sunday, an all-day street fair with hands-on workshops, entertainment and artistic activities.
Participants can decorate T-shirts, take ceramics lessons, make masks, visit a storytelling workshop and attend ecology art classes. Seminars on juggling, making art with paper and drawing will be available. Jazz, swing and blues bands will play all day on two stages.
Children can attend the Imagination stage where two circus-type acts will entertain. Lou Wow and the Poi Boys, a variety act on stilts, will perform along with the Jumbo Shrimp Circus, a comedy-circus duo.
“This festival is dedicated to bringing art to everyone,” said festival coordinator Lindsay Shields. “Everyone gets to participate.”
All workshops are free. The artistic event will be held downtown at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Highland Avenue. The streets will be closed for the festival, which runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
