Limping along: Tami Pivnick, a Chaminade High graduate and freshman midfielder at California, continues to be plagued by injuries.
Pivnick excelled in the California Olympic soccer development program and at the club and high school levels but twice suffered torn knee ligaments and underwent surgery while at Chaminade.
At Cal, Pivnick was a starting midfielder in seven of the Golden Bears’ first eight matches and had five assists.
But last month doctors diagnosed a stress fracture of her left femur.
She is likely to be sidelined through the end of the month.
Cal is 8-1-1 and ranked No. 16 in NCAA Division I.
