Muir 46, Hoover 12--The Mustangs scored on each of their four first-half possessions in a Pacific League game at Pasadena City College.
Sultan McCullough of Muir (5-2, 2-0) had 132 yards and two touchdowns in 24 carries. Muir quarterback Jadiem Wilson, making his first varsity start, completed four of six passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
LaShaun Ward took over at the start of the second half and completed five of seven passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Jason Young of Hoover (1-6, 0-2) had 55 yards and a touchdown in 13 carries.
Tornado quarterback Jason Bryant completed two passes for 67 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown play to Frank Maltez with four seconds left in the first half that pulled Hoover to within 25-12.
