An 18-year-old Canyon Country man was killed early Sunday morning when he was struck by a freight train in Santa Clarita in what authorities are investigating as a possible suicide.
The man, whose name was being withheld pending notification of relatives, was apparently lying on the railroad tracks near Oak Spring Canyon and Lost Canyon roads, and the oncoming freight train was unable to stop.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said investigators found no sign of foul play but the cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s office.
