Toledo Feels for Harrick

Coach Bob Toledo was working in the UCLA film room Tuesday night when, a short distance away, his basketball counterpart, Jim Harrick, was being fired.
Toledo learned about it later that night when he got home and found a reporter’s message.
“I find it hard to believe,” Toledo said. “It’s tough. I guess I don’t know Jim very well, but I feel for him.”
One other football Bruin could be affected. Drew Bennett, a 6-foot-5 walk-on quarterback from Northern California, had hoped to also walk on with the basketball team.
After Bennett was spurned by then-assistant Steve Lavin, Toledo appealed to Harrick, who said Bennett would be allowed to try out after the football season.
With Lavin now the interim head coach, what happens next will be determined.
