Irvine Valley found a nearly foolproof method of success this year. All the Lasers have to do is make sure Pfeiffer, a powerful forward from Mission Viejo High, scores. Irvine Valley is 10-1-1 to start the week. He had 10 goals in Orange Empire Conference games and 17 overall. He had a hat trick as Irvine Valley beat Riverside, 3-0, to secure a playoff berth last week.

He scored three goals as Fullerton beat Cypress, 3-2, then got two more as the Hornets beat Orange Coast, 4-1.
